Multi-Platform Arcade Conversion

Time to take a chance at the shooting gallery with Sega's Carnival. This 1980 classic mimics the feel of a midway game of skill as players try to nail as many moving targets as they can. The gun stays static at the bottom while a rainbow of animals move horizontally in the play area. Stacking up a high score is challenging with a limited number of bullets, so aim carefully and shoot the 5s and 10s to build up your ammo.

Carnival was an '82 launch title for the ColecoVision, brought in alongside Zaxxon to prove its arcade replicatability. Though tougher to maneuver than the coin-op, the Coleco port is a great rendition that includes all vital elements, from the difficulty progression to the bear-shootin' bonus round (one of the earliest in a video game!). Be sure to an eye out for those ducks. They will grow in number as you play and have the unfortunate ability to swoop down to gobble up your bullets!
