DataEast's BurgerTime was an arcade hit in ye olden days. You control the frantic and portly Chef Peter Pepper, moving him vertically and horizontally across each stage. Pepper can drop ingredients like buns and tomatoes to make burgers at the bottom of the screen, getting into a fast rhythm before long. Hot dogs, eggs, and pickles begin to come to life - all furious with the chef and ready to stir up some havoc!
Pepper has fortunate tricks up his apron to stop the dastardly food stuffs. The player can toss burger bits on top of the baddies or throw pepper at them to induce paralysis. All such attacks only temporarily keep our beloved chef protected, as these foes will speedily spawn back to the forefront and cause trouble once more. Indeed, BurgerTime is no slouch in the difficulty department. Either on Coleco or Intellivision, you cannot go wrong with this classic title.
