NTVIC - For SNES
Strike Gunner
Game Type | Game Size | Release
Shooter | 8 MB| Sept 1992
testimage

This port of the vertical arcade shooter allows for two-player simultaneous gameplay as you fight to stop an alien invasion. The weapon selection in Strike Gunner is equal with the arcade counterpart, but do not expect the same amazing scrolling effects or graphics. STG is an undisputably fun ride, but a lackluster difficulty and poor style make it unmemorable.

Toho - For SNES
Space Megaforce
Game Type | Game Size | Release
Shooter | 8 MB | Oct 1992
testimage

In Space Megaforce, you operate a small vessel in a mission to stop a mysterious, spherical object from destroying the planet. This game is fast - incredibly fast. The opening levels are a touch too easy, but it ramps up with a slew of crazy power-up devices and weapons. It's hard not to be won over by the mind-boggling Mode 7 scaling effects as well.

Konami - For SNES
Axelay
Game Type | Game Size | Release
Shooter | 8 MB | Sept 1992
testimage

An advancement of their prior shooters like Life Force, the new Axelay title from Konami grants you control over the D117B space fighter ship in a fight to save the galaxy from an alien empire. You have three weapon styles to begin with, but as you proceed through the levels, your arsenal expands. It's excellent, visually, and a great shooter as a whole.

Virgin - For GENESIS
Global Gladiators
Game Type | Game Size | Release
Platformer | 8 MB | Oct 1992
testimage

In this Virgin Games adventure, take control of Mick and Mack as they look to rid the world of a goop-infested species of monsters. Despite the obvious cash-grab nature of this McDonalds-licensee, the game itself is solid enough. The gameplay is fair for a standard platformer and the sound design is nothing to sneeze at. Is it worth the price tag? Our reviewers aren't sure.

RazorSft - For GENESIS
Death Duel
Game Type | Game Size | Release
Action | 8 MB | Oct 1992
testimage

In the year 2140, You, the last duelist of the Federation, must eliminate the alien scum taking over the galaxy! This is a first-person shooter game, meaning you will likely wish you had access to a light gun of some sort to take down the baddies. There are plenty of stages and ways to upgrade your arsenal, but the lack of variety leaves this a fun rental, but not much else.

Turbo Tech - For TG16
Neutopia II
Game Type | Game Size | Release
RPG | 4 MB | Oct 1992
testimage

Explore a fantastical terrain in this new role-playing game exclusive to TG16 consoles. Neutopia II maintains the gameplay mechanics of its predecessor whilst adding new items and hidden chests, giving it a Zelda-like feel. There is no shortage of things to do in this title, but if you were not stirred by the original, this will not change your mind.

Hudson Soft - For TG16
Soldier Blade
Game Type | Game Size | Release
Shooter | 4 MB | Sept 1992
testimage

The Turbografx-16 lives up to its reputation as the home for stellar shooter games with the arrival of the arcade-like Soldier Blade. The gameplay is fast, exciting, and splendidly colorful. Some have cited its easy difficulty as a reason to grant it a demerit, but it remains a solid addition for any TG16 player to add to their catalog.

Data East - For NES
Joe & Mac
Game Type | Game Size | Release
Action | 3 MB | Oct 1992
testimage

Play as your favorite cavemen friends in the NES-ified version of the Super NES and Genesis cart. The shrinking player base of the NES notwithstanding, it is commendable for Data East to provide NES players with this title. It's not perfect, and is a tad easy for our reviewers' tastes, but it has all of the same power-ups and enemies of the big-boy 16-bit carts.

Capcom - For Game Boy
Bionic Commando
Game Type | Game Size | Release
Action | N/A | Oct 1992
testimage

Rad Spencer, an agent of the FF Corps, is on a mission to rescue his friend and ally from the evil Doraize Army! This platformer is rather fun considering the limitations of the tiny Game Boy portable screen, and after a while you do forget that you're playing on a handheld. It's another excellent title in a long list from Capcom studios, and perhaps on par with the NES counterpart.
