Just narrowly edging out Metal Gear Solid, Zelda on N64 has video game fans foaming at the mouth. Nintendo's first four incarnations of this series were hugely popular in both the U.S. as well as Japan, generating massive interest in converting Link's adventures to the third dimension. It stands to reason this action-role playing title will feature incredible 3-D landscapes across the terrain of Hyrule as Link battles enemies with his trusty sword. Much of Zelda 64's story is still being kept under wraps, but our takeaway from the Space World demo was that this will involve time-travel as an integral element - With both a young Link and an adult Link playable throughout the game. Preventing Ganon from gaining control of the Triforce will mean conquering an assortment of dungeons and besting foes in meticulously designed swordplay. Having seen what Miyamoto and Co. pulled off with their masterful Mario 64, we trust that development of this critical game (For the future of N64 as well as our own hopes!) is in good hands. | |||
